The new semester means new faces and new places, new policies and new regulations.
I created this blog spot for my English 104 class and our first assignment is to talk about its syllabus. This is what it says:
First off, it states the texts and materials recommended for the class. After this, it covers the goals for the course including things like the well-rounded completion of research projects, employing critical thinking, and learning to collect research and turn it into compelling, creative pieces of writing. The course content and format is listed along with a point scale for the assignments we will be undertaking throughout the semester and a grading scale. The syllabus also details the different assignments in depth including major projects, journals, and conferences. Attendance and participation consumes a large amount of the document, reinforcing strict policy on missing class and so forth. Special needs and classroom etiquette are also covered with a quick description of the Writing Center we have on campus in attempt to get us to use it to its full potential. The syllabus closes with a detailed semester schedule.

Remember I don't want summaries for your journals--I want to see your reflections on what you are learning as you read and research.
